Never mind the streets of London are rife with morbid gossip about vampires and murders attributed to the New London Ripper, Willow Greye has finally made the move from Texas to England to be reunited with her family like she has always dreamed.
When her sister, Laurel, becomes the next murder victim with her death splashed across tabloids, the ill-equipped Willow must utilize her grief to defend a gentle life overshadowed by its gruesome end. To do this, she becomes determined to prove the culprit isn’t some immortal worthy of occult-loving headlines, but a terrible human who tore her family apart.
Blake, the soft-spoken assistant librarian and first self-proclaimed vampire she can find to interrogate, garners her empathy, causing her to doubt her suspicions. Even with his help, she is faced with a history of mysterious murders, convoluted science, and a determined longing for a familial community mirrored by each cult member she encounters. The further she descends into this world, the harder it becomes to disprove the undead's existence without losing what remains of the family she has always yearned for.
